Greymon is covered in a rhinoceros-beetle-esque shell and spews flames from its mouth. SkullGreymon puts too much importance on fighting, but it clings to life despite its body rotting. It launches organic missiles from its spinal cord. MetalGreymon has offensive power that rivals that of a nuclear warhead. It slashes enemies with its tethered trident-arm. WarGreymon is equipped with the strongest shield and can gather the energy within the atmosphere to concentrate into one spot and fire it as an extremely dense fireball.

talking to a friend about pinup influenced art

  • me: it's just... aesthetically lazy to me
  • me: if you're gonna have a pseudo feminist opinion on female sexuality in art at least don't have one that you've parroted from generations of men
  • me: i love old porn/pinup art
  • me: i really do
  • me: but ... you can't just superficially copy it? if you want to learn from the greats... then learn from the greats for god's sake
  • me: they had some really cool ideas in their work
  • me: they had an exuberance for the subject matter that we could learn from
  • me: the solution to that isn't... to just copy their technique and subject matter
  • me: it's to think critically about how they translated their own sexual preferences into their work
  • me: and then think about what we ourselves find exciting sexually and then apply those principles to our own ideas
  • me: that's my philosophy anyway
  • me: these artists have done half the work for us already, and now all we have to do is reverse engineer it and make it work for our purposes
  • me: like gil elvgren's work isn't great just because of his painting technique and adorable girls, although that is a lot of it
  • me: but because he had a way of creating everyday ordinary scenarios and idealizing them AND adding just enough skirt lifting to make them seem WAY more obscene than they actually were
  • me: his work is hypersexual because he heightens the risque-ness by bringing the work closer to real life everyday scenarios
  • me: the girl accidentally lifting her skirt isn't as sexy if she isn't ALSO cooking a barbecue outside
  • me: grounding the scenarios is what makes them interesting and sexual

  • Nephew: Star Wars was in Captain America's list of things to see right? Is he going to watch all six? He's going to find out that Nick Fury is a Jedi.

Always dressed in a mixture of township cool and sartorial chic styles, the trio that make up the Soweto and Sandton-based style and photography collective who operate under the title ‘I SEE A DIFFERENT YOU' have provided us with some of the coolest and most refreshing images of everyday folks documenting their interactions with the environments they live in and the people they meet.

Comprised of twin brothers Innocent and Justice Mukheli, and their friend Vuyo Mpantsha, I SEE A DIFFERENT YOU’s aim is simply to show the story of their Soweto (and wherever else they travel to). Because what you see, of course, is not the only story of Soweto, but that of three individuals living in Soweto.

Watch them tell their stories at TEDxSoweto.

After days of toiling, I finally submitted my entry to that Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate weapon design competition.
It’s a Hunting Horn so it even includes an animated GIF of the whole thing unfurling and stuff. I don’t usually animate ever but this definitely needed it to get the gimmick across.

Oh lawds i’m excited

Have to wait at least 20 days or so for any confirmation (SHOULD mine get chosen, of course)

This is the most productive thing I’ve done for a while. Now, back to job hunting and portfolio assembling :C
